I've got a slightly older computer I'm upgrading. Bottom line, will a video card rated as PCI Express 2.0 work in a plain PCI E slot? [I know it won't even fit in a regular PCI slot].|||yes, PCI-e 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI-e 1.0/1.1|||Yes. PCI-e 2.0 is compatible with 1.0 in all combinations. Every PCI-e 2.0 /x16 card is also a PCI-e 1.0 x16 card because it fully complies with the PCI-e 1.0 x16 specification.
