Upgrading Video Cards Help?

hi, i just bought cod 4 mw and ive been noticing that it is slow, it doesnt lag but i wanna make it run smoothly so i'm thinking of buying a Geforce 9800GT graphics card but i'm wondering if it will be compatible.

I have a AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz and a Nvidia 6100 nForce 405 Graphics card,

Also will a 9800GT run games smoothly ?

thx|||It will be a hell of an upgrade from your 6100.

Make sure your PSU is at least 400-450w or higher.

Also make sure your motherboard has a PCI Express slot.|||most games that come out have list of compatible graphics cards, i think maybe u should check on the mw site and also u should ask the computer guy u buy it from.|||as offensive technician said you'll need a new psu no doubt.but buy a good brand one.a cheapo 450w psu will struggle to run the card.|||Compatible with the game? yes. Is it compatible with your computer? Don't know. How big is your power supply (as previously stated it needs to be around 400-450 watts min.) Pci express slot? (I'll assume yes as it seems like a newer computer by the processor). Does it have an available 6 pin supplemental 6 pin pcie connector to power the card? Don't know without the make and model of your computer and power supply.
