How do i know what kind of upgraded video card will fit my computer?

I am looking for a newer graphics card so i can play games, but i am not sure what will fit my computer. I have an Nvidia Vanta/Vanta LT card installed.|||to give you a better answer, I would need to know the brand and model of your motherboard...

most likely you have a AGP video slot|||hi jamey

this ones quite easy,the nvidia tnt/vanta graphics card was only ever released in the "A.G.P" bus interface so thats the type of card you should be looking for

however in regards to running games you need to be looking for something in the high end side of agp cards and the first card that comes to mind is the excellent "Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDCP HDTV out AGP Graphics Card"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143873)

this is a awesome card for anyone still running a socket 478 or socket A based system with a agp bus and it has some decent specs that can take on some pci-express cards

however you may also require a new power supply as the HD3850 requires at least a 450watt psu with at least 24A on the +12v rail

there are some other agp cards such as the radeon HD3650 and the geforce 7900gs however these are slower than the radeon HD3850 and are also quite difficult to find

hope this has helped,any problems let me know

good luck mate !|||Your current card is a AGP, so your motherboard will only support AGP cards. You are limited as to what card you can install since AGP has been outdated for some time and all newer cards are PCI express.

Still, ATI has a nice card that would suit you for gaming, the 4650;

I know there was a discussion on if both Nvidia and ATI should start producing AGP cards again since the bandwidth increase that was only reason PCI Express came to be and it's not even fully utilized.

Good Luck
